Eligibility:
Only students who meet the requirements below will be considered for the program:
Completed 3 semesters of work at USF
Officially declared major in a biomedical related field
Desire to pursue graduate studies
Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
Earned at least a 3.0 GPA in science courses
Be a citizen or permanent U.S. resident
Belong to an underrepresented group in doctoral studies: Black, Hispanic, Native American Indian, or natives of the U.S. Pacific Islands
Application:
This year's deadline is July 10, 2007. All application materials must be turned in by this date in order to be considered for the program. Application materials include:
1. Completed application form
2. One official copy of all college transcripts
3. At least two letters of recommendation
4. Statement of purpose (one to two typed pages)

Participation:
As a MARC Scholar you are expected to:
Spend 15 hours per week on research related activities
Enroll in technical writing and ethics course
Attend summer externship
Author a scholarly article
Present research at conferences
Perform well on the GRE
Apply and enroll in a graduate school of your choice
